Purpose

  • As Assistant Contract Manager, you will coordinate the needs and priorities of Indirect Procurement with various legal departments, including Governance, Compliance, Intellectual Property, Data Protection, and Legal Counseling (among others).
  • You will act as a key interface between Procurement, Legal and the business, ensuring that contractual frameworks support business requirements while maintaining compliance and mitigating risks.

Responsibilities

  • Create, review, and revise contracts, including non-disclosure agreements (NDAs), service agreements, vendor contracts, purchase orders, among others.
  • Ensure all contracts comply with legal requirements and company policies.
  • Lead contract negotiations with external and internal stakeholders to secure the best terms for the organization.
  • Develop and maintain standardized contract templates for recurring agreements.
  • Analyze the financial aspects of contracts, including payment terms, pricing models, and potential cost savings, ensuring that contracts are economically favorable to the organization.
  • Conduct regular audits of active contracts to ensure compliance with contractual terms, legal requirements, and company policies.
  • Provide training and guidance to internal teams on contract management best practices, legal implications, and company policies. Assist in the development of training materials or workshops.
  • Act as an advisor to senior management and other departments on contract-related matters, providing insights and recommendations based on industry trends and legal developments.
  • Manage contract termination processes, ensuring that all obligations are met before closure, and handle any disputes or claims that may arise from the termination.
  • Resolve any disputes or issues that arise during the negotiation process.
  • Maintain an organized system for contract management, including tracking key dates, obligations, and deliverables.
  • Ensure that all contract-related data is securely stored and managed, adhering to organizational and regulatory data protection standards.
  • Monitor contract performance to ensure compliance with terms and conditions.
  • Oversee contract renewals, amendments, and terminations.
  • Maintain detailed records of contract history, including correspondence, changes, and approvals.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with contracts, ensuring that potential issues are addressed proactively.
  • Work closely with the Legal and Compliance teams to minimize legal and financial exposure.
  • Collaborate with various departments (e.g., Legal, Procurement, IT, HR) to gather necessary information and ensure that contracts meet organizational needs.
  • Prepare reports on contract status, compliance, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for senior management.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all contract-related inquiries.

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, or a related field.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in contract management / law / procurement.
  • Strong knowledge of contract law and legal terminology.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • High attention to detail and strong analytical abilities.
  • Proficiency in contract management software and tools.
  • Proficiency in English.
