JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a detail-oriented Contract Specialist to join our Indirect Procurement team. This role will play a critical part in managing the contract lifecycle, from drafting contract clauses in coordination with our Legal Department during the pre-award stage to providing expert contract management support post-award. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of contract law and procurement processes, strong business acumen, and the ability to conduct thorough analyses for claims management purposes. They will also be adept at working collaboratively with cross-functional teams.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES & MAIN TASKS

Pre-Award Stage:

• Collaborate with sourcing specialists to identify contract needs and contribute to the development of contract strategies.

• In coordination with our Legal Department, develop and maintain standardized contract templates for recurring agreements, including service agreements and non-disclosure agreements (NDAs).

• Draft contract clauses, ensuring clarity and compliance with legal and company standards (contract engineering).

• Analyze financial aspects of contracts, including payment terms and pricing models, to ensure contracts are economically favorable.

 

Post-Award Stage:

• Manage significant contracts, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.

• Handle formal communications, claims management, and follow-up on supplier performance, addressing any issues proactively.

• Conduct regular audits of active contracts to ensure adherence to contractual obligations and company policies.

• Monitor contract performance metrics and prepare reports for senior management on compliance and key performance indicators (KPIs).

• Oversee contract renewals, amendments, and terminations, ensuring all obligations are met.

 

General Responsibilities:

• Ensure all contracts comply with legal requirements and organizational policies.

• Act as an advisor to senior management and internal stakeholders on contract-related matters, providing insights and recommendations based on industry trends.

• Provide training and guidance to internal teams on contract management best practices and legal implications.

• Maintain an organized contract management system, tracking key dates, obligations, and deliverables.

• Identify and mitigate risks associated with contracts, working closely with the Legal and Compliance teams to minimize exposure.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for all contract-related inquiries, fostering strong relationships with stakeholders.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Specific skills / expertise / product:  
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Law, or a related field..
• Proven experience (minimum 10 years) in contract management, procurement, or legal support, preferably in an indirect procurement environment.
• Strong understanding of contract law and procurement processes.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities.
• Proficiency in contract management software and tools.
• Proficiency in English.

• Ability to work independently and manage multiple contracts simultaneously
