Purpose
- The Data Delivery Lead ensures that data onboarding demands are successfully delivered into the Enterprise Data Platform. This role acts as the bridge between stakeholders and the data engineering team, driving timely completion of requirements, promoting process adoption, and raising organizational maturity in agile ways of working.
Serve as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders at all levels, translating business needs into technical data requirements and ensuring alignment with organizational priorities.
Responsibilities
Data Delivery Coordination:
• Track and monitor progress of data onboarding requests from intake to delivery.
• Have a thorough understanding of the data demand requirements to ensure maximum productivity and avoid duplicity of efforts
• Ensure alignment with agreed timelines, scope, and quality standards and work with the development team closely to ensure meeting timelines and output(s) meet requirements.
• Escalate risks and blockers proactively to internal development team and relevant stakeholders.
• Analyze and prioritize data onboarding requests based on data provenance, strategic importance, and efficiency impact.
• Translate business objectives into clear technical specifications for data engineering teams.
• Collaborate with Data Science teams to scope analytical datasets, model inputs/outputs, and ensure delivery.
• Coordinate with Reporting & Analytics teams on KPIs, metrics definitions, and reporting datasets.
• Use available tools like Azure DevOps, Data Demand Dashboard(s) to follow up on Demands, construct a wholistic view of Demands across portfolios, to optimise data delivery.
• Act as Scrum Master to support Data Engineering teams’ delivery on data demands
Stakeholder Engagement:
• Act as the primary point of contact for business and technical stakeholders during delivery.
• Facilitate requirement clarification sessions and ensure completeness of specifications.
• Communicate status updates and manage expectations effectively.
• Engage with senior leadership to communicate progress, risks, and business impact in a clear and compelling manner.
• Liaise with Data Science and Reporting teams to align analytical use cases and reporting needs.
Process Adoption & Awareness:
• Advocate for the new Data Demand Management process across teams.
• Conduct awareness sessions and workshops to explain the process and its benefits.
• Support stakeholders in navigating intake, prioritization, and delivery workflows.
• Promote standardized onboarding of analytical datasets, model outputs, and reporting layers.
Agile Ways of Working:
• Promote agile principles within data delivery activities (e.g., iterative delivery, backlog refinement).
• Collaborate with teams to implement sprint-based planning for data onboarding.
• Encourage continuous improvement and feedback loops.
Documentation & Knowledge Management:
• Maintain accurate records of requirements, decisions, and delivery milestones.
• Contribute knowledge base articles and FAQs to improve stakeholder self-service.
• Document lessons learned and best practices for future onboarding requests.
Data Science & Reporting Analytics Enablement:
• Partner with Data Science teams to understand models, dependencies, and feature engineering needs.
• Support onboarding of model-ready datasets, training datasets, scoring pipelines, and outputs.
• Collaborate with Reporting & Analytics teams to deliver semantic layers, dashboards, and metrics.
• Ensure alignment between operational, analytical, and reporting data products.
• Improve data accessibility and usability for analytics consumers.
Quality & Compliance:
• Ensure delivered datasets meet agreed data quality standards and governance requirements.
• Validate that onboarding aligns with security, compliance, and regulatory obligations.
Education
• Minimum bachelor’s degree in information systems, Data Management, Computer Science or related field.
• Formalized education in Data Science, or equivalent in years of proven hands-on experience
• SCRUM / AGILE certification and proven working experience is a must.
• 5+ years of experience in data delivery, data governance, or project coordination.
• Experience working in cross-functional teams and managing multiple stakeholders across different geo-locations.
• Knowledge of FPSO operations or oil & gas industry (preferred but not mandatory).
Experience
- Strong project management coordination and stakeholder management skills.
• Excellent communication and facilitation abilities.
• Very good understanding of data platforms (Data Warehouse, Data Lake, Data Lakehouse etc, ETL tools) and data governance principles.
• Understanding of agile methodologies, SCRUM, DevOps and their application in data projects.
• Problem-solving mindset and ability to manage competing priorities.
• Strong business analysis skills with the ability to assess and articulate business value of data initiatives.
• Excellent communication skills to engage stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership.
• Ability to triage and prioritize demands based on data lineage, compliance, and productivity goals.• Logical, pragmagmatic approach to challenges with a proactive attitude to reaching solutions.
• Shows initiative and independence in managing deliverables, driving progress proactively to achieve roadmap milestones.
