RESPONSIBILITIES

The purpose of the onshore based Senior Electrical engineer´s role is to provide specialized support for three FPSOs. Priorities include maintaining critical electrical systems, maximizing safe electrical operations, optimizing reliability and maintenance intervention costs.
The role requires follow-up with regular site visits, support for onshore projects, participates in emergency response team, contributes to upgrade projects and planned shutdowns.
The role is technically supported by onshore Lead Electrical Engineer and Monaco Technical Authorities with detailed analysis and operations advice in accordance with SBM technical standards.

•    Support offshore Electrical Supervisors with technical & maintenance guidance.
•    Support Procurement with technical specifications and standards advice.
•    Support Project and Shutdown Teams from commissioning to post installation.
•    Support Ex inspection & repair programs and technician competency.
•    Trouble shoot and diagnose offshore electrical technical issues.
•    Participate & technical input to multidiscipline risk assessments.
•    Vendor mobilization: Review, Selection, Coordination and Subcontractor control.
•    Maintain technical and budgetary control of LV electrical motor repairs.
•    Cost control of specialized electrical repair maintenance budgets.
•    Support Rotating equipment troubleshooting and maintenance programs.
•    Maintain detailed familiarity with offshore facilities and electrical personnel.
•    Interview and recommend Electrical Technicians for Lead EE approval.
•    Mentor and train shore-based junior technical personnel.
•    Act as Lead Engineer and provide specialist Emergency Response Support.



MAIN TASKS
 

Electrical, instrumentation and control equipment responsibility includes:
•    HV & LV Switchgear, Protection Relays, and Distribution boards.
•    Power Generation Alternators, PMS, AVRs and generator control panels.
•    HV/LV Motors, Variable Speed Drives, Soft starters and Transformers.
•    UPS/Battery systems, Lighting, HVAC, heaters & navigation equipment.
•    Electrical cabling, glands, terminations and junction boxes. 
•    Control of Ex-rated electrical equipment maintenance & inspection programs.
•    Review of packaged equipment and electrical interfaces.
•    Project manage electrical switchboard inspections by third party specialists.
 

Project and Shutdown Support activities:
•    Technical advice to progress project/shutdown work scopes.
•    Procurement specifications and vendor equipment reviews to ensure equipment meets SBM GTS, International Standards and Management Standards. 
•    Attend Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) and Site Acceptance Tests (SATs) for major electrical equipment.
•    Contribute to construction work packs, installation plans and mark up drawings.
•    Monitor installation completions and pre-commissioning before energizing of equipment and commissioning during the start-up phase.

 
 
JOB REQUIREMENTS

•    Educated to HNC/HND/BSc or equivalent standard in Electrical Engineering degree.
•    Experience of HV/LV electrical system design, maintenance & operation.
•    Practical knowledge of Permit To Work (PTW), Electrical Isolation Standards, Risk Assessment (RA), Power Management System, HV / LV Power Generation, Protection Relays and system modelling.
•    Knowledge of electrical equipment in hazardous areas and IEC 60079 standards.
•    Familiarity with office desktop packages and software-based maintenance systems.
•    Effective communication, report writing, organizational & analytical skills.
•    Self-motivated, enthusiastic, effective team member and communicate effectively with offshore and onshore staff at all levels.
•    Offshore survival course and First Aid certified (desirable).
•    Medically fit for offshore visits (required).
•    Ability to travel internationally, including offshore facilities.
•    Oil and Gas industry experience preferable.
•    English Language spoken and written.
