Job Purpose
As Chemistry Engineer, you provide expert chemical engineering support for the shore base operations, ensuring the safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible execution of projects and processes. You contribute to the optimization, and troubleshooting of chemical processes, supporting both ongoing operations and new initiatives.
Job Responsibilities
- You develop and optimize chemical processes for the extraction, refining, and transport of oil and gas, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements;
- You conduct tests and analyse to monitor the quality of products and processes, implementing adjustments as necessary to maintain standards;
- You ensure all chemical processes adhere to safety regulations and environmental standards, conducting regular audits and risk assessments;
- You provide technical support and troubleshooting for chemical processes and equipment, collaborating with other engineering disciplines and operations teams;
- You participate in the development of new technologies and methods to improve efficiency and sustainability in oil and gas operations;
- You maintain accurate records of chemical processes, tests, and analyses, preparing detailed reports for management and regulatory bodies;
- You provide training and guidance to junior engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development;
- You lead or support chemical engineering projects from concept to implementation, managing timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field is required;
- A Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field is preferred;
- Professional certification or licensure (e.g., Professional Engineer (PE) status) is an advantage.
Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in chemical engineering, preferably within the oil and gas industry;
- Proven experience in process design, optimization, and troubleshooting in a shore base or similar setting;
- Familiarity with industry standards, safety regulations, and environmental guidelines related to chemical engineering in oil and gas;
- Experience with project management and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.
