RESPONSIBILITIES & MAIN TASKS
 

  • Focus primarily on configuration, setup, and maintenance of monitoring tools.
  • Update documentation in the IT Operations SharePoint folders related to monitoring configurations.
  • Contribute to weekly or monthly reports on monitoring performance and findings.
  • Adhere to Change Management and other policies regarding monitoring tool implementations.
  • Maintain the accuracy of monitoring tool configurations and assets inside the CMDB.
  • Maintain skillset with training as needed to fulfill monitoring responsibilities.
  • Participate in IT Projects where monitoring expertise is required.
  • Ensure that monitoring systems are within support by maintaining proper lifecycle guidelines.
  • Configure and maintain monitoring tools to keep awareness of any alerts and thresholds to ensure system stability, capacity requirements, and Disaster Recovery requirements
  • Monitor the queue of the ITSM tool, ServiceNow, in area of responsibility and meet the department's SLA for monitoring-related issues.
  • Monitor and manage the configuration of monitoring tools such as Azure Monitor, Microsoft SCOM, Orion SolarWinds, ELK (Kibana) / ELG (Graphana), Nagios
  • Ensure proper integration and functioning of monitoring tools with systems and networks.
  • Monitor and analyze server and related system patch and update status through monitoring tools.
  • Ensure all systems are enrolled in the appropriate monitoring systems, including Microsoft Azure monitoring.
  • Work with internal and external audits as needed to ensure compliance with monitoring standards and configurations.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS
 

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in System role with a focus on monitoring tools (Senior or Lead Position).
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Azure Monitor, Microsoft SCOM, Orion SolarWinds, ELK (Kibana) / ELG (Graphana)
  • Relevant certifications or experience in configuring and maintaining monitoring tools.
  • Ability to propose and design monitoring system architecture and configurations based on business needs.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure monitoring and its integration with other monitoring tools.

  • Properly plans monitoring tool setup and maintenance to allow adequate time for stakeholder feedback and adjustments.
