Purpose
As a Data Steward Intern, you will be part of the Source-to-Pay (S2P) organization, supporting activities related to supplier master data maintenance and data quality.
You will assist the Data Steward team in maintaining accurate supplier information within SBM Offshore's systems while learning about supplier onboarding processes, data governance principles, and internal controls.
Under the supervision of experienced team members, you will support day-to-day data management activities, help ensure data accuracy, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
1 – Supplier Data Maintenance
- Assist in creating and updating supplier records in company systems.
- Review supplier requests and supporting documentation for completeness.
- Support supplier onboarding and maintenance activities.
- Perform basic data validation checks.
- Assist with identifying potential duplicate supplier records.
2 – Data Quality Support
- Perform routine data quality reviews using predefined checklists.
- Assist in correcting data inconsistencies identified by the team.
- Maintain accurate records of completed activities.
- Support periodic data cleanup initiatives.
- Contribute to maintaining high-quality supplier master data.
3 – Workflow Administration
- Support the processing of ServiceNow requests.
- Monitor assigned requests and follow up when information is missing.
- Update tracking files and operational logs.
- Ensure documentation is properly stored and organized.
- Escalate issues requiring further review by senior team members.
4 – System & Process Support
- Update supplier information in ERP and related systems following established procedures.
- Assist with testing activities during system updates when required.
- Support documentation of procedures and work instructions.
- Help maintain process documentation and user guides.
5 – Controls & Compliance Support
- Follow company procedures and internal control requirements.
- Ensure required supporting documents are attached to requests.
- Maintain confidentiality of supplier information.
- Support audit preparation activities by gathering documentation.
- Escalate unusual or potentially risky requests to senior team members.
7 – Team Collaboration
- Work closely with Data Stewards and other S2P team members.
- Provide administrative support related to supplier master data activities.
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
- Develop knowledge of supplier lifecycle and data management processes.
- Build collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders.
Education
Technical skills:
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
- Attention to data accuracy and detail.
- Basic understanding of databases or ERP systems is an advantage.
- Interest in data management and business processes.

Education:
