RESPONSIBILITIES & MAIN TASKS
• You ensure the integrity and longevity of assets by monitoring and preventing corrosion. You provide the expertise in digital monitoring systems, support inspection teams, and lead initiatives to improve corrosion detection and prevention. Your role is crucial in preventing equipment failure, ensuring safety, and maintaining operational efficiency;
• You provide support to monitor corrosion parameters using data and alerts from the digital corrosion monitoring system:
• You provide support for the analysis of the data from corrosion monitoring tools, sample for bacteria, pH, and oxygen, and manage chemical injections to prevent corrosion;
• You support the Naval team with tank and hull inspections, review reports, and provide recommendations;
• You review and assess corrosion-related incidents in the Loss of Primary Containment (LOPC) register and help implement solutions;
• You participate in or lead investigations of material and corrosion issues and support the lead investigator in serious incidents;
• You help develop new Risk-Based Inspection (RBI) plans, focusing on assessing failure probabilities, and supporting Risk-Based Assessments.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Specific skills / expertise / product:
• Master's or PhD in Materials Science, Corrosion Engineering or a related field;
• Minimum 10 years’ experience in oil and gas/marine industry;
• Knowledge of International Codes and Standards related to Materials and corrosion IEN ISO 21457, ISO 15156, NORSOK M-001, NACE, API 581);
• Material selection and corrosion expertise gained on the job may include design, installation, failure analysis, Risk Based Inspection;
• Basic knowledge in welding, Non-Destructive Examination (NDE), cathodic protection and coating will be a plus;
• Basic knowledge of process and equipment;
• Advanced English.
