Job Purpose
As Naval Lead, you lead the department employees and ensure they have the right level of competencies to deliver the work results in time and within budget. You ensure that the Company Unit’s hulls and hull appendixes and pump/engine rooms structures are prepared and maintained in a good and reliable condition by the most economical combination of investment and maintenance throughout the projected lifetime, taking into account specific site and contract conditions.
Job Responsibilities
- You lead, motivate and support the Naval team to achieve the goals and proposed KPIs.
- You monitor and report the working progress of the inspection campaigns.
- Assist on the people technical and soft skills development.
- You support on critical demands acting with the team.
- You assist in preparing the inspection plans (Prescriptive or RBI based).
- You assist in preparing, reviewing and approving reports and specifications for inspection and repairs.
- You verify that the Inspection plan is captured properly in the Unit planning and that all Planned Maintenance (PM) activities and Corrective Maintenance (CM) are captured in Company Maintenance System (CMMS).
- You assist on budget preparation for the inspections campaigns and follow up during the year to support its achievement.
- You set up priorities when required and manage the workload of the team.
- You ensure that the Verification activities are performed as per Central plan.
- You review incoming Rules and Regulations updates, verify applicability to the Fleet and initiate process to get the Fleet to comply with these updates as required.
Education
- Degree in Naval Architecture (including stability, naval structure and naval architecture) or related degree.
Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in naval engineering, preferably in the oil and gas industry.
- In-depth knowledge of marine structures & systems, structural repair, International Standards (IACS & Class), materials, welding, planning and scheduling activities, and ship stability.
- Good Knowledge in CAD software and other engineering tools.
- Familiarity with ABS HM and HIMP software or similar.
- Previous experience as a lead is an advantage.
- Experience in Class Society as surveyor or in Engineering is an advantage.
