Purpose
- As Operations Regulatory Engineer you ensure that Offshore Asset operations within your assigned scope continuously comply with applicable international and local regulations (also as assigned), with all related permits, licenses, certificates, and other authorizations, maintained valid at all times.
Responsibilities
- You maintain an effective interface with all Regulatory Body and Recognized Organization representatives (e.g., Surveyors, Auditors) relevant to your assigned scope.
- You remain informed of applicable regulations and related requirements and communicate them as required.
- You provide support to the related Operations Management team(s) in understanding regulatory requirements applicable to their scope and in taking appropriate actions to sustainably meet those.
- Jointly with the Operations Management teams, you plan and manage activities required to maintain regulatory permits, licenses, certificates (including notably Class) and other authorizations, valid at all times.
- You maintain regulatory registers and records up-to-date.
- You monitor the continued compliance with and validity of certificates and other authorizations.
- You attend regulatory surveys and audits relevant to your assigned scope.
- You lead or contribute to investigations of regulatory incidents if/as assigned.
- You ensure completion of corrective actions related to your assigned scope.
- You provide accurate reports for internal and external communication.
- You communicate effectively and collaborate with all Stakeholders to ensure effective results.
- You escalate critical issues to Management if required.
Education
- Engineering or university degree in a relevant field e.g. Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Environmental Science, Law, Quality.
- Professional certification in regulatory compliance or QHSE management (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH).
- Qualified Auditor/Surveyor.
Experience
- At least 4 years of experience in a relevant industry sector, e.g. Maritime, Certification, Oil & Gas (ideally including FPSO operations), Petrochemicals.
