RESPONSIBILITIES & MAIN TASKS

The Payroll and Benefits Officer is responsible for preparing and registering all benefits in the Netherlands payroll system in a timely and qualitive manner, in line with group procedures, internal control and local laws.

 

  • Understand AFAS and the interface with HRIS (SAP Succesfactors) and accounting systems,
  • Maintain a relationship with payroll supplier and raise the respective tickets when needed,
  • Responsible for reporting any issue to the P&B specialist or to the P&B manager (HRIS reporting, accounting problem, payroll software problem),
  • Collect payroll elements on a monthly basis and process them in the payroll software,
  • Responsible for the monthly, quarterly, annually reconciliation of all ledger accounts impacted by payroll,
  • Prepare all wage tax and social security instructions and payments for Payroll and local management to approve, as well as the necessary documents for payroll management,
  • Prepare the payroll audit documents and gather all audits documents requested from HR Admin,
  • Ensure smooth communication with key HR stakeholders (International Mobility Specialists, HRIS Team, HR Admin) to ensure accuracy in all payroll benefits and contractual information,
  • Prepare headcount and other ad hoc payroll reporting,
  • Closely support employees in understanding their benefits and payslips through tickets raised on the internal platform (ServiceNow),
  • Maintain and update internal procedures and process descriptions, while proactively engaging in process improvements,
  • Timely delivery of internal KPIs to Payroll Management.

 

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Management, or a related field, preferably with a payroll specialization,
  • 2+ years of experience working in payroll,
  • Experience with payroll for the Netherlands,
  • Experience with AFAS payroll tool is preferred,
  • Strong understanding of Dutch labor law,
  • Strong proficiency in Excel
  • Proficiency in English, both spoken and written,
  • Ability to manage complexity and meet deadlines,
  • Detail-oriented with an analytical approach to work,
  • Great communication skills,
  • Ability to work in an international environment.
