Purpose

  • As Shutdown Engineer you are responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing shutdown activities to ensure the safe, efficient, and timely completion of maintenance, repairs, and modifications in accordance with company standards and industry best practices. You are responsible for delivering the execution of shutdown scopes, from Engineering to execution.

Responsibilities

  • You are responsible for the definition of the Shutdown Scope of Work, its follow-up and control of changes to this scope.
  • You develop and implement detailed shutdown plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring efficient and timely execution.
  • You develop, review and manage engineering deliverables.
  • You coordinate with internal teams, contractors, and vendors to ensure seamless execution of shutdown activities.
  • You Identify, allocate, and manage resources, equipment, and materials necessary for shutdown operations.
  • You monitor progress against schedules, address potential delays, and implement corrective actions to stay on track.
  • You oversee shutdown activities, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • You conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation measures for safe shutdown operations.
  • You provide technical guidance and support, troubleshooting issues as they arise to maintain smooth execution.
  • You conduct post-shutdown reviews to capture lessons learned and drive improvements for future shutdowns.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Shutdown Planning and Project Management certifications are a plus.

Experience

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in shutdown planning and execution within the Oil, Gas and Chemicals industry.
  • Proven experience in coordinating onshore/offshore contruction / repairs / modifications in the Oil, Gas and Chemicals industry.
  • Strong knowledge of industry standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
  • Familiarity with maintenance management systems (e.g., SAP, Maximo) and project planning software (e.g., Primavera, MS Project).
