Role Purpose
As Shutdown Manager you are responsible for the planning, execution, and management of all shutdown activities across the Region to ensure safe, efficient, compliant and timely completion of maintenance and project work. Your role involve coordination with multiple departments, contractors, and stakeholders to deliver shutdowns within budget, timeframes, and quality standards, while ensuring adherence to company safety and operational procedures.
Role Responsibilities
- You lead and manage the Unit Shutdown Team in your Region.
- You develop and implement comprehensive shutdown plans, schedules, and strategies to ensure efficient execution.
- You coordinate with operations, maintenance and external contractors to align activities and resources.
- You define scope, budget, and timelines for shutdown projects, ensuring all requirements are captured.
- You lead and manage the execution of shutdown activities, ensuring work is carried out safely, on time, and within budget.
- You monitor progress against the shutdown plan, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- You oversee contractors and third-party service providers, ensuring compliance with company standards and expectations.
- You conduct post-shutdown evaluations to assess performance, identify lessons learned, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- You serve as the main point of contact for all shutdown-related activities, ensuring clear and effective communication with stakeholders.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field. A master’s degree is a plus.
- Professional certifications in project management (e.g., PMP) or shutdown management are highly desirable.
Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in shutdown/turnaround planning and execution within the Offshore Oil & Gas industry, with experience within Operations or Brownfield Activities.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale shutdowns, including planning, execution, and budget control.
- Strong knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and best practices in shutdown operations.
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills with the ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and contractors.
