Purpose

  • You support the effective management and optimization of rotating equipment on SBM FPSOs by monitoring and analyzing machinery conditions. Your role is crucial in ensuring equipment reliability and operational efficiency through continuous condition-based monitoring, data analysis, and collaboration with various teams. You play a key role in troubleshooting, maintenance planning, and guiding the technical team in making informed decisions to prevent failures, enhance equipment lifespan, and support safe and efficient operations.

Responsibilities

  • You support Machinery Engineers and the Maintenance Team in managing the Condition-Based Program for rotating equipment on SBM FPSOs, including compressors, turbines, blowers, pumps, gearboxes, and motors;
  • You review and monitor rotating equipment conditions using vibration data, lube oil results, and other critical operating data (e.g., pressures, temperatures, flows, loads, efficiencies) to assess equipment health.;
  • Manage the Vibration & Oil Analysis Database and support the issuance of recommendations, consolidating inputs from third parties for the Offshore crew;
  • You are responsible for Input actions in the Computerized Maintenance Management System;
  • You should Follow-up on recommendations execution and effectiveness;
  • You perform continuous vibration analysis on equipment with installed Machinery Monitoring Systems (e.g., Bently Nevada System 1).;
  • You set up pre-warnings and alerts to proactively identify potential issues and necessary actions;
  • You collaborate with Operations and Maintenance Personnel, Technical Support Team, and Region Planners to prioritize repairs for identified equipment deficiencies;
  • You assist in troubleshooting by analyzing vibration data and other key machine parameters.
  • You provide vibration and oil analysis history to support root cause analysis efforts.
  • You offer guidance to the Technical Support Team and System Leads on machinery conditions during task risk assessments and gate reviews (e.g., after major repairs or life extension evaluations);
  • You identify and justify the purchase of major predictive equipment spare parts;
  • You provide technical assistance for root cause analysis related to ICSS failures and recommend remedial actions.

Education

  • Minimum ISO 18436-2 Cat III certification;
  • High Level of Safety Awareness and good sense of economics;
  • Offshore survival and medical desirable/required.

Experience

  • Advanced knowledge in the field of Machinery Condition monitoring;
  • Good knowledge of Bently Nevada System 1 or ADRE;
  • Rotor dynamic knowledge;
  • Oil & Gas Experience - FPSO experience preferred;
  • Able to work autonomously and in multi-disciplinary teams;
  • Must have a proactive approach in combination with a problem solving attitude;
  • Good analytical skills and ability to meet deadlines
  • Effective communication and organizational skills, self-motivated, enthusiastic and able to work as a team member and communicate effectively with onshore and offshore staff at all levels
  • Experience with Rotating machinery;
  • Minimum 5 years experience in the condition monitoring;
  • Must be autonomous and with good team spirit;
  • Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken;
  • Ability to manage several activities in parallel, combined with flexibility and strong organization;
  • Ability to travel internationally (short term), including offshore.
