PRODUCTION SUPERINTENDENT
As a Production Superintendent you are accountable for and manages all topside Production
discipline activities on board. You manage the Production department.
ROLE CONTRIBUTION
1 In order to Safely meet Production targets efficiently and fulfil contractual obligations,
YOU ARE TO:
1.1 Meet the Production Plan, safely operate the plant within design parameters as per
operation manual and raise feedback/deviations when needed
1.2 Collaborate with the shore base team and discipline Specialists to deliver the production plan,
be a focal point for clients and vendor work in Production areas
1.3 Fully collaborate and support Head of Departments (HODs) and Offshore Installation
Manager (OIM) in order to achieve business objectives
The measure of effectiveness will be:
 To meet the set of contractual targets
 The Formal feedback forms
 To meet the set of HSSE targets for the Unit
2 In order to achieve added value for clients and SBM by developing constructive relationships
whilst defending SBM’s interests, YOU ARE TO :
2.1 Be the Focal point to review / implement / authorize requests from clients
2.2 Manage / Support vendor work in Production areas
2.3 Analyze production shortage/deferment. Identify responsibilities between SBM and client
as defined in the contract. Propose corrective actions if relevant
The measure of effectiveness will be:
 The formal client feedback
 The formal vendor feedback form
 The repeat visit from vendors
3 In order to effectively lead a Production Team, YOU ARE TO :
3.1 Ensure the Production team has clear objectives aligned with the business.
3.2 Monitor and manage individual and team performances.
3.3 Provides support and ensure individual and team development, training and competence
is fulfilled
The measure of effectiveness will be:
 The regular feedback to team and formal measurement through appraisal
 The HR Training and competence Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
 HR Training and Competence KPIs
 The Training and Competence Audit outcomes

4 In order to gain knowledge, understanding and compliance with the Global Enterprise
Management System (GEMS), YOU ARE TO :
4.1 Fulfill Production Superintendent accountabilities / responsibilities as described in GEMs
The measure of effectiveness will be:
 The audit outcomes

BACKGROUND :

 Proven experience and results-oriented career AND/OR HND or Degree equivalents in appropriate engineering
subject.
 2 years minimum as Production Superintendent (or Operations Office based equivalent).
 Experience and knowledge of hydrocarbon processing systems and utility systems.
 Supervisory experience of Permit to Work, Mechanical/Electrical Isolation Standards and Risk Assessment.
 Medically fit to offshore International standards such as ENG1 or equivalent.
Personal Skills
Personal: Conscientious, flexible, versatile and determined. Capable of assertive and positive communication and
performance.
Leadership: Exemplary safety and managerial leadership skills. Good levels of written and spoken communication in
English language. Clear understanding of personnel behavioural and team issues. Capable of motivating
Senior staff members and teams. Flexible in applying different approaches to changing work demands
Technical: Appropriate standard of managerial, technical, and professional knowledge as defined by competences.
IT: Operation of MMS system interface. Practical familiarity with standard ‘Office’ software package.
Operation and use of Internet and electronic mail system.
