ROLE PURPOSE
As an Asset Integrity Engineer – Hull Machinery, you play a vital role in providing technical support for SBM’s Brazilian fleet, covering essential hull machinery such as cranes, seawater lift pumps (SWLP), diesel engines, and other engine room equipment. You oversee troubleshooting, manage overhaul scopes, and deliver technical assistance to ensure continuous operations, consistently aligning with best practices, regulatory standards, and engineering design requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support daily operations to meet and sustain operational targets.
• Collaborate with the Change Management team by offering technical expertise on MOCs and QnAs.
• Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) and technical authority for designated equipment, providing guidance for non-standard interventions, such as retrofits, non-like-for-like replacements, and temporary repairs.
• Interface effectively with maintenance, procurement, engineering, operations, construction, planning, and cost control teams to drive successful outcomes.
• Act as the technical representative for CREA requirements on lifting equipment.
• Offer technical support for equipment failures by aiding the maintenance team with troubleshooting and providing key recommendations.
• Lead major projects focused on enhancing machinery performance and asset health, employing benchmarking initiatives across the fleet.
• Support the OPEX and CAPEX strategic planning process for machinery assets.
• Contribute to Root Cause Analysis (RCA) processes by delivering technical insights and recommendations.
• Provide technical input and review for long-term service agreements with both OEM and non-OEM vendors.
• Oversee the qualification process for new vendors and renewal of existing vendor qualifications, ensuring high standards across equipment maintenance and repair.
ROLE CONTRIBUTION
1 In order to Ensure Integrity and Safety of the Unit, YOU ARE TO:
1.1 Provide expertise to solve technical issues locally and fleet wide with knowledge and experience in the following areas:
• Technical knowledge: Hydraulics, diesel engines, pumps, HVAC, compressors, cranes, lifting equipment, winches and auxiliary system in general (boilers, steam turbines, compressed air, HPUs, freshwater generators, marine systems – oil content monitoring, bilge, grey and black waters), marine rules and mechanical background in general
• System: PI System; IFS (CMMS)
• Will be a plus: Lube Oil Analysis; Root Cause analysis (RCA);
1.2 Conduct independent audit
1.3 Highlight and follow up on technical risk
1.4 Ensure compliance by following up on Class issues, local & Flag regulations
1.5 Supplement shore base expertise or resources as business required The measure of effectiveness will be:
• The feedback from management level
• The audit in line with GEMs
• The technical reports
• The success rate of avoiding non-compliance events
• The correct allocation of hours in the Time Registration System (T-REG)
2 In order to achieve Continuous Improvement of tools and processes, YOU ARE TO :
2.1 Collect data and feedback from fleet
2.2 Analyse data to provide feedback for continuous improvement
2.3 Use vendors to identify and provide innovation
2.4 Develop and maintain the Global Enterprise Management Systems (GEMS) procedures, processes and Code of Practices (COPS)
2.5 Ensure Maintenance and development of Tools and application with IT
2.6 The representative of Operations (Ops) in strategical and tactical meetings
The measure of effectiveness will be:
• The technical reports
• The number of feedback forms
• The number of innovations by vendors
• The number of feedback forms
• The maximization of the tools uptime
• Participation in workshops and monthly meetings
3 In order to Optimize Commercial Performance, YOU ARE TO :
3.1 Identify and qualify vendors and sub-contractors
3.2 Provide data for reporting The measure of effectiveness will be:
• The evidence of qualifying meeting reports
• The report in accordance with the Global Enterprise Management System (GEMS)
