Purpose

  • The Senior Bulk Engineer is a technical leader and integrator responsible for overseeing the accuracy, consistency, and strategic alignment of bulk material data across the project lifecycle. Acting as the primary interface between Engineering, Supply Chain, and Construction, this role ensures robust processes for MTO validation, drives resolution of complex discrepancies, and mentors Bulk Engineers to uphold best practices. The Senior Bulk Engineer focuses on proactive risk management, data-driven decision support, and continuous improvement, enabling cost and schedule optimization while safeguarding data integrity and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Interface with Engineering on Material Take Offs (MTOs), ensuring timely release aligned with project schedule.
  • Oversee and validate MTO inputs through structured review processes, resolving complex discrepancies and mentoring Bulk Engineers on best practices.
  • Apply wastage matrix to MTOs and validate derived quantities.
  • Assess and approve top-up and top-down MTO requirements, ensuring procurement strategies align with cost and schedule objectives.
  • Issue MTOs to Supply Chain and coordinate material release and delivery plans with hubs and logistics.
  • Generate multi-system data analysis to support project decision-making.
  • Issue MTOs to the Yard and validate material allocation responsibilities across stakeholders (SBM, 3rd party, Yard).
  • Support Construction with timely data and material tracking.
  • Maintain live trackers of bulk material usage, delivery, availability, and surplus.
  • Lead preparation and presentation of Workfront Analyses and Bulk Reports to senior stakeholders, influencing project decisions.
  • Own project reporting for bulk scope, proactively flagging overdue or at-risk items and driving resolution strategies.
  • Provide regular updates to the Bulk Manager.
  • Maintain and operate Bulk databases, ensuring data integrity and compliance with the Company's Management of Change process.
  • Conduct and lead bulk-related gap analyses across disciplines, recommending corrective actions and driving implementation.
  • Act as primary integrator between Engineering, Supply Chain, and Construction for bulk scope, resolving systemic issues and improving collaboration frameworks.
  • Identify and support reuse of surplus materials and contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare the detailed Bulk Close-Out Report at project completion.

Education

  • Bachelor degree in a relevant engineering discipline or a cost engineering study

Experience

  • At least 5 year experience in a material control / cost engineer / Project Planning / Procurement position / Data analysis Experience in an EPC project and experience in data handling and databases is a pre, Excellent MS Excel knowledge.
    MS Access, SQL, Visual Basic, Power BI is a plus English is a mandatory.
