Structural Hull Designer 

As the Structural Hull Designer, you work closely with Engineers and other Designers to accurately interpret the engineering design and ensure the design is accurately captured in the 2D/3D design software. You are responsible for ensuring the design produces fit for purpose results in a constructible and organized drawing. As the Structural Hull Designer, you will ensure application of best practices into design work, and you are accountable to the Discipline Manager and/or Discipline Lead for overall performance. 

Responsibilities: 

• Producing technical drawings in support of engineering activities 

• Develop 3D AVEVA Marine Hull model and produce deliverables in accordance with contract requirements 

• Produce/Extract 2D Drawings with adequate dimensions necessary to assist the Engineering disciplines  

• Perform discipline interface checks, identify conflicts, and take corrective action in coordination with other engineering discipline inputs 

• Prepare material take off, review vendor drawings, ensuring vendor specifications are in full compliance with contract requirements 

• Provide clarification and technical support  

• Experience: 
  5 + years relevant experience in ship structural design and offshore Oil & Gas industry with specific experience on Hull Design of Offshore Oil and Gas facilities 

• Exposure to EPC environments 

• Knowledge in basic & detailed Engineering projects  

Software: 

• Aveva Marine Hull (must have) 

• Aveva Marine Outfitting (good to have) 

• Autodesk AutoCAD (must have) 

• Rhinoceros (good to have) 

• Autodesk Navisworks Simulate (good to have)
