Department information
The Engineering Project Management department is a team of experienced professionals who are assigned to projects to manage the technical scope of the project and to ensure the technical scope is executed in compliance to contractual requirements, internal and external codes, standards and regulations within budget and schedule.

Role description
As the Hull Engineering Project Engineer you are reporting to the Engineering Project Manager (EPM). You support the EPM in executing the FPSO hull related engineering scope within schedule and budget.

 

To achieve this, you work closely with stakeholders like discipline lead engineers, PMT, Client, Technical Authorities, Operations and classification society.

Typical tasks assigned to the EPE are as follows:

  • Responsible for proper execution of the scope of work assigned, based on agreed methods, procedures and time frame in order to obtain a satisfactory result.
  • Coordination of preparation of technical documents as per the agreed scope of work.
  • Coordination of technical interfacing between the work in the applicable disciplines.
  • Coordination of interfacing with purchasing, construction and commissioning activities if so applicable.
  • Coordination of technical review by the project and third parties, such as Class, and processing of comments.
  • Contribute to the preparation and maintenance of the master document list.
  • Organization of document review and control and planning of documents issue.
  • Supervision, coaching and interfacing of the Lead Engineers.

 

 

Role requirements
SBM Schiedam is looking for candidates who have a BSc. or MSc. within a relevant Engineering discipline (e.g. Marine Systems, Naval Architecture, Structural, Hydrodynamics). You have at least 10 years of Engineering experience, which includes international experience in multi-disciplinary projects.

 

You have the following skills and experience:

  • Team Management experience
  • Experience with FPSO
  • Willingness to travel (the position is based in Rotterdam, but international business trips may be required)
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbally.

 

 

By the end of 2024 the current SBM Schiedam office will move to Groot Handelsgebouw in the heart of Rotterdam city centre, one of the Netherlands’ largest multi-tenant business buildings. Extensive works will make this space into the perfect location to showcase SBM Offshore’s new Rotterdam presence and identity, with modern office space design and our SBM office branding.
