Department information
The Engineering Project Management department is a team of experienced professionals who are assigned to projects to manage the technical scope and to ensure that the technical scope is executed in compliance to contractual requirements, internal and external codes, standards and regulations within budget and schedule.

Role description
The Overall FPSO Engineering Manager reports to the Project Manager and acts as the engineering focal point for the overall FPSO scope of the project including Topsides, Vessel and Mooring. Your responsibilities are:

  • Responsible for oversight and verification of all engineering activities undertaken on the FPSO project scope, coordinating, and supervising all engineering activities related to the engineering. This includes ensuring that all engineering work is completed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with project specifications and standards.
  • Manage full FPSO engineering scope activities and ensure they align with project objectives, specifications, and quality standards. This includes overseeing the design, planning, and execution of engineering tasks, as well as implementation of quality management processes specific to engineering.
  • Help acquire relevant approvals and certifications (client, class, etc.)
  • Identify project resource requirements and liaise with Engineering Resource Managers to ensure availability and allocation.
  • Identifies potential engineering risks and develop strategies to mitigate these. Implement these strategies and monitor their effectiveness.
  • Oversees FPSO engineering team discipline leads and Topsides, Vessel, and Mooring area Engineering Project Managers.
  • Collaborate with Delivery Managers, Project Manager, Supply Chain, Planning, Construction and Operations.
  • Continuous development and implementation of lessons learned to ensure highly effective and efficient engineering execution.
  • Accountable for the guidance and performance of engineering technical teams.
  • Regularly report on engineering status, including any changes or issues that may impact project deadlines or budgets, to the Project Management and other stakeholders.

 

Qualifications

  • BSc. or MSc. Degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or other relevant fields).
  • Minimum 15+ years of experience as a Project Engineering Manager.
  • Ideally 5-8 years of experience within the FPSO industry
  • Experience in leading and managing engineering teams in a project-based setting.
  • Experience from construction and/or offshore operations support.

 

Skills

  • In-depth knowledge of engineering for offshore installations.
  • Good understanding of engineering execution of EPCI FPSO projects, including FEED.
  • Expertise in engineering methodologies, including equipment, interfaces, and other components in offshore or marine environments.
  • Expertise with project management tools and methodologies, including strong commercial and contractual awareness.
  • Ability to deliver in a high pressure, fast-paced project environment.
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary / multinational environment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and address issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
  • Proven capability to lead teams, make decisions, ensuring team alignment with project goals and working with teams remotely.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Team Player with ability to guide, motivate, and manage teams to achieve project objectives.
  • Willingness to travel (the position is based in Schiedam, however frequent international travel is required)
