Purpose

  • The Construction Discipline Manager oversees the deployment, development, and performance of resources across multiple projects.
  • You are responsible for resources allocation, balancing project demands with available capacity. Your role is vital to ensuring efficient, quality construction support throughout project lifecycles, driving successful project execution.
  • You maintain synergies and ensures the department is working in an integrated manner with the projects & sites.

Responsibilities

  • You allocate relevant personnel to projects based on skills and project needs, ensuring optimal utilization and adjusting resources as priorities shift.
  • You monitor workloads and adjust resource assignments to balance capacity and project priorities.
  • You lead and mentor a team of resources, conducting performance reviews, providing technical guidance, and supporting professional development.
  • You work closely with project managers, project teams, clients, and external partners to align resources and resolve technical challenges.
  • You track and report on resource utilization, project progress, and team performance to the project managers and to the department.
  • You coordinate with other Discipline Managers to monitor interfaces and collectively increase overall function's performance.

Education

  • At least a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.

Experience

  • 10+ years of experience with 3-5 years in a team management role.
  • Strong knowledge of construction best practices, standards, and risk management
  • Sound technical expertise, team management, and resource planning skills.
