The Project Procurement Lead - MECH (PPL) is responsible for delivering the Purchase Order (PO) to meet the

SBM and project requirements, especially in terms of safety, budget, schedule and quality.

You ensure that the PO is executed in line with the Project requirements and applicable documents, specifications and standards. You efficiently manage all tactical aspects of the Purchase Order from the RFQ phase until final delivery and PO close-out, including all Post-Order activities associated to the purchased goods or services.

You actively contribute to the Lessons Learned process to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the

Supply Chain.

The Package Procurement Lead (PPL) acts as the focal point with Suppliers on assigned turnkey

project(s) or fleet vessel(s).

You are responsible to support the Category Managers to implement the Global Supply Chain sourcing


You are responsible to efficiently and adequately set-up the Tendering strategy for the Purchase

Request under consideration, along with Buyer and Category Manager.


Job requirements:

  • Academic:            Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience:         Minimum 5 years’ in-depth experience in Supplier Management of mechanical equipment used in the offshore hydrocarbon industry, such as rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, etc.) and/or static equipment (pressure vessels, piping, valves, etc.), with preference in pumps. Solid knowledge of the applicable standards, such as API, ASME, etc. and manufacturing method management (different materials, welding and NDT methods, casting, forming methods, surface treatment, coating, etc.). Strong understanding of all relevant aspect of Supplier execution management (e.g. POs, ITPs, Expediting, FATs, Variation Orders, OWL, reviewing technical documentation, contracts management, etc.). Experience in working with the industry’s standard Class Authorities (DNV, BV, ABS, etc.). Knowledge of essentials in Project Management (PMP certificate an advantage).

  • Strong ability to monitor and follow-up manufacturers and sub-suppliers with ability to recognize strengths and weaknesses of the supply chain in advance and intervene when needed

  • Autonomous and ability to take personal initiative
  • Strong adherence to Safety and Regulatory Compliance
  • Good analytical skills with ability to perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) when applicable
  • Curious and motivated to propose and/or explore new ideas
  • Willingness to travel over-night trips to Chinese Suppliers and shipyards, with occasional short assignment options
