Description: 

Purpose

  • As HSSE Officer, for your assigned locations, you are responsible for ensuring that employees, contractors and SBM visitors, at Construction sites work in a safe, secure and environmentally responsible manner, ensuring compliance with all standards, rules and other requirements imposed by Company, Regulators, Clients and other relevant Stakeholders.
  • You actively drive the effective implementation of your discipline’s standardsand Training methods, applicable on construction sites. You play a key role in promoting and embedding strong leadership, positive behaviour and culture across your assigned locations.

Responsibilities

  • You take part in accident/incident investigations.
  • You carry out analysis of accident/incident statistics, identify trends, and suggest improvement plans.
  • You provide technical support to Senior Management on any safety-related subjects.
  • You conduct in-house safety training.
  • You perform safety audits on Sub-contractors.
  • You perform Risk Assessments.
  • You prepare Health and Safety documentation for new tenders.
  • You provide Safety support and advice, including supervision in the preparation of plans and procedures for initial contract start-up activities.

Education

  • Certification in Science/Engineering or equivalent with additional professional qualifications in HSSE and Fire & Safety Management Systems

Experience

  • 5 or more years of experience in Health, Safety ,Security and Environment and Fire Services in the Oil and Gas industry of which 5 years in the Offshore Hook Up and Commissioning sector.
  • Working knowledge in Health, Safety and Environment Management Systems, Environmental Discharges, Incident Command System, Incident Investigation by using Tripod Beta Tool, HSSE Auditing Techniques, HEMP, Radiological Safety
