Construction Quality Non Destructive Testing Inspector
Singapore, SG, 629353
Purpose
- The Construction Quality Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Inspector is responsible for conducting NDT inspections to ensure that the welds, materials, and structures of the FPSO meet all relevant standards, codes, and specifications.
- You verify the integrity and quality of welded joints and other critical areas to ensure they are free from defects and meet the required safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities
- You perform NDT methods such as Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Radiographic Testing (RT), Magnetic Particle Testing (MT), Liquid Penetrant Testing (PT), and Visual Inspection (VT) on welded joints, materials, and components to ensure integrity and compliance with project specifications.
- You oordinate with the project team to ensure inspections are carried out in a timely manner, developing and implementing NDT inspection plans based on project requirements, work schedules, and applicable codes/standards.
- You ensure all NDT equipment is calibrated, in good working condition, and compliant with relevant standards, including performing routine checks and preventive maintenance on equipment.
- You prepare detailed inspection reports, including findings, test results, and any non-conformances (NCRs). Document and track the status of inspections and test results in a systematic and organized manner.
- You evaluate NDT results to identify any defects or anomalies that could affect the structural integrity or safety of the FPSO, ensuring compliance with industry standards (e.g., ASME, API, ISO) and project specifications.
- You provide technical guidance on NDT procedures and results interpretation.
- You perform NDT inspections of welds to verify that they meet quality and safety standards. Ensure that defects such as cracks, porosity, inclusions, and voids are properly identified and documented.
- You promote a culture of safety within the team and ensure adherence to safety protocols during testing operations, ensuring that all NDT inspections are carried out in compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations.
- You coordinate NDT inspections with other construction activities to minimize downtime and ensure that inspections are integrated into the overall project schedule.

- Diploma in a relevant technical field (e.g., Engineering, Materials Science, Non-Destructive Testing).
- Certification in NDT (Level II or III) for various methods such as UT, RT, MT, PT, and VT (e.g., ASNT, PCN, or equivalent). Additional certifications for specific NDT methods are highly desirable.
- FPSO Experience: Prior experience on FPSO or offshore construction projects is highly advantageous.
Experience
- Proven experience in NDT inspection within the oil & gas, offshore, or shipbuilding industries, with direct experience in FPSO or marine construction projects.
- Proficient in multiple NDT techniques and methods, with a deep understanding of their application and interpretation, especially in the context of welded joints, materials, and structural components in offshore and FPSO construction.
