Spare Parts Engineer

Purpose
- As Spare Parts Engineer, you play a key role in ensuring necessary Spare parts are available on time to support a smooth start-up of the operations. Your responsibilities include developing the Spare Parts Strategy and executing related analysis for new projects, while coordinating efforts across Project, Supply Chain, Vendors, Operations Readiness, Clients and Global Organization.
Responsibilities
- You develop a comprehensive Project Spares Strategy that encompasses procurement strategies, scope prioritization, budget distribution and forecast, preservation activities, target delivery dates, delivery locations, and tax considerations
- You execute the analysis and selection of operational and capital spares and consumables for new projects, ensuring that all required parts are procured in the correct quantities to mitigate risks to safety, environment, production, and business during the first years of operation, all within budget and timelines. Additionally, you determine purchase quantities based on sparing strategies, operational data from CMMS, and input from Discipline Experts and the Operations Readiness team
- You provide to Project Supply Chain the lists of required Spare parts to purchase
- You contribute to engineering/technical/safety related studies ensuring that actions requiring mitigation through spare parts are captured and addressed
- You actively support Spare Parts coordinators providing clear guidance and instructions to suppliers ensuring the full understanding of SBM’s requirements and expectations
- You facilitate Spares parts workshops with suppliers, clients, engineering, Operation Readiness team and Asset Integrity and Reliability’s experts
- You perform verification activities prior hand-over to operations
- You gather Lessons learned and share with affected parties contributing to continuous improvement of Spares selection and procurement processes
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. A Master's degree is recommended
Experience
- Minimum 8 years onshore and/or offshore experience in FPSO/Oil & Gas operations, Engineering or supply chain.
- Good general knowledge of FPSO (or platforms) design, design processes and project execution and completion activities in construction yards.
- To be familiar with regulatory requirements related to FPSOs.
