We are looking for a Local Content Intern to work onshore at Georgetown shore base.

ROLE PURPOSE:

The Local Content Intern shall be primarily responsible for the collection and compilation of information for all statutory and client reports. The Incumbent will also be responsible for producing reports as maybe required from time to time. These reporting comes with the need to track progress via KPIs.

CORE FUNCTIONS

  • Be accountable for ensuring that all information and documentation required by the Local Content are compiled and analysed. These include the annual plans, the semi-annual reports and performance reports.
  • Compile and analyse information for the Client’s Local Content reports ensuring that the information is entered in the templates provided.
  • On a monthly basis compile a report for submission to Manager on Purchase orders (POs) in IFS to ensure Local Content Categories are correctly allocated.
  • Prepare and submit Sole/Single Source approval requests to the LCS and follow up to ensure timely receipt of approvals.
  • Maintain adequate records of sole/single source approval requests. 
  • Submit intent to award notifications to the MNR for all POs/Contracts to be awarded resulting from advertised RFI/RFP processes.

 

  • Monitor publications of RFIs/RFPs and coordinate clarification sessions with the CLBD. 
  • Assist with vendor feedback in line with capacity development objectives.
  • Monitor Purchase requisition logs maintained by Supply Chain to ensure single/sole source approvals are requested for all procurement not publicly advertised.
  • Prepare monthly triple urgent reports for submission to the Local Content Secretariat.
  • Monitor Supply Chain’s KPIs in the approved Annual Local Content Plan
  • Monitor Human Resources and Training dept. KPIs in the approved Annual Local Content Plan
  • Assist HR with the compilation and analysis of onshore and Offshore personnel information for reporting.
  • Follow up with strategic vendors on milestones of the implementation of their Local Content Plans.
  • Consolidate strategic vendor’s report on Local Content performance and input such information into SBM Offshore Local Content reports.
  • Support local content communication plans and assist in developing and enhancing information on local content.
  • Assist with implementation of the Local Content Plan to address workforce and supplier development, and strategic community investments for projects.

SKILLS /QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE

  • Currently enrolled (3rd or 4th year) in a Tertiary institution as part of a Degree programme in: Human Resources, Supply Chain, Public Affairs, Business Administration, or a related business field at a recognized institute of professional studies.
  • High attention to detail
  • Must have the potential of being absorbed as a full-time employee of SBM, and availability to work (in the future) standard working hours.
  • Must be a Guyanese National
  • Fluent in English (verbal & written)
  • Have a demonstrated ability to interact successfully with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which includes a willingness to be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
  • Computer literate in MS Office Suite (particularly in excel and powerpoint). 
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills (both written and verbally).
