PROCESS ENGINEER GUYANA

 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for providing daily technical support to the operation both onshore and offshore to solve any technical queries and operability problems.
  • Responsible for monitoring the performance of the process facility, ensuring it is operated safely and within its design envelope. Identify and avoid any future problems.
  • Responsible to optimise the process facility performance to ensure safe and continuous production and to maximise the uptime key performance bonus under the contract.
  • Adhere to the Company Safety policy and to all relevant local legislation.

 

Main Tasks

  • Acts as the onshore focal point for the production team offshore for all process related issues and effectively relay the information to the Technical Superintendent and all relevant parties in the SBM organization.
  • Obtain all additional necessary technical support locally, internally and externally (e.g. SBM, external consultants, vendors, and contractors) as required.
  • Technically review any process design changes that are requested under the Management of Change process.
  • Define the functional requirements of design changes that may become necessary during the life of field and initiate the Management of Change (MOC) processes in line with SBM MS procedures.
  • Ensure the Unit’s process operations manual(s) is maintained up to date to correctly reflect the operation of the process facility and any changes that have been made.
  • Undertake root cause studies to determine failures or under-performance of the process facility and recommend remedial actions in accordance with the SBM MS.
  • Provide support to Technical Superintendent and assistant for all process related issues.
  • Follow procedures and Working Instructions relevant to process engineering design.
  • Provide Technical support to the purchasers to respond to any technical queries from suppliers.
  • Audit suppliers and vendors to ensure quality delivery and attend FAT of new equipment when required.
  • Ensure that the production/process capability on the Unit(s) is maintained at the highest practical level, and that any production/process downtime is minimized.
  • Act as a focal point for Client and chemical supplier(s) for all process related issues, as directed by the Technical Superintendent and ensure good working relations are maintained at all times.
  • Liaise with SBM Monaco as directed by the Operations Manager on any operational issue affecting the safe production and uptime of the Unit(s).
  • Assist in managing the Emergency Response arrangements including planning, drills and execution.
  • Conduct regular visits offshore, carry out at least one Verification Exercise of the SBM MS during these regular offshore visits, and monitor the timely close out with appropriate records of any corrective action identified.

 

 

Job Requirements:

  • University degree, BSc or MSc in Chemical or Process Engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years in Process design and providing process-engineering support to operations.
  • Detailed Process Design knowledge including use of conventional process design tools.
  • Fluent spoken and written English.
  • Ability to quickly assess and prioritize situations.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills and strong commitment to a team culture.
  • Ability to travel internationally (short term), including offshore.
