Purpose

  • The Operations Data & Information Manager is responsible for implementing global data strategy within the operations phase of the asset lifecycle. This role ensures that operational data is governed, of high-quality, aligned with corporate standards, and ready for advanced analytics & data science, digital twin applications, and AI-driven insights. The position focuses on applying data policies, maintaining integrity across operational systems, and collaborating with IT&S and cross-functional teams to make data accessible and actionable for operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Manage operational data resources and objectives to ensure alignment with global data strategy.
  • Apply and enforce corporate data standards, policies, and procedures within SBM Operations domain.
  • Coordinate with IT on data centralization initiatives (data governance, master data mgt, enterprise data platforms) to ensure operational data is integrated and accessible.
  • Ensure accurate and complete data handover from EPC to Operations, including validation of As-Built documentation.
  • Maintain operational data integrity and lifecycle processes.
  • Enable advanced analytics, digital twin, and AI applications by ensuring data readiness and accessibility.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate and industry regulations for operational data management.
  • Lead data stewardship programs within Operations, promoting accountability and ownership of data quality.
  • Collaborate with IT and cross-functional teams to align operational data initiatives with company goals.
  • Monitor and improve data quality through audits and root cause analysis, implementing corrective actions.
  • Support visualization and real-time monitoring tools to enhance operational decision-making.

Education

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant or related field such as data management, data analytics/science, business intelligence, computer science, information systems, engineering, or business administration.
  • Advanced certifications in data management, data governance, or enterprise architecture (DAMA CDMP) are highly desirable.

Experience

  • 10+ years of professional experience in business or IT management, preferably within industrial or energy sectors.
  • 5+ years of people leadership experience, with strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Proven expertise in data architecture, governance, and analytics, applied in operational contexts.
  • Hands-on proficiency with data platforms (Datalakehouse, Master Data Mgt, Integration services, Power BI, SQL, Cognite) and enterprise systems (IFS, PI System, Onevision).
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams in complex, multidisciplinary environments, across different geo-locations.
  • Experience in federated governance models, integrating global standards within local operational needs.
  • Strong background in process integration and information strategy across corporate boundaries.
  • Deep understanding of the asset lifecycle, including as-built documentation and operational data requirements.
