Senior IT Project Manager

Purpose

• As a Senior IT Project Manager, you manage and lead complex Projects from initiation to completion, ensuring they meet business objectives, timelines, and budgets. Oversee project teams, coordinate resources, and address risks and challenges to achieve successful outcomes. Provide strategic direction, mentor junior project managers, and drive continuous improvement in project management processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the end-to-end management of high to very high complexity projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives, timelines, and budget constraints.
• Develop and maintain project plans, including schedules, resources, and risk management strategies to ensure successful project delivery.
• Coordinate and collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, business units, and external vendors, to drive project execution and resolve issues.
• Monitor project progress through regular status meetings, updates, and reporting, ensuring all stakeholders are informed and aligned on project goals.
• Mentor and guide project engineers and managers and team members, providing expertise in project management methodologies and best practices.
• Manage project risks by identifying potential challenges early, developing contingency plans, and implementing mitigation strategies to minimize impact.
• Ensure compliance with organizational policies, standards, and regulatory requirements in all project activities.
• Facilitate communication between stakeholders, ensuring that project goals, timelines, and expectations are clearly understood and met.
• Drive continuous improvement in project management processes, tools, and techniques, promoting efficiency and effectiveness in project delivery.
• Ensure post-project evaluation, capturing lessons learned and sharing best practices to inform future project planning and execution.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, business administration, or a related field is required. Certifications such as PMP (Project Management Professional), PRINCE2, or ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) are essential. Master’s degree in business administration, project management, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory. Proficiency in English is essential for effective communication with team members, stakeholders, and external vendors.

Experience

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in IT project management. Proven experience in managing and delivering complex IT projects across various domains, including software development, infrastructure deployment, and system integration. Strong background in project management methodologies such as Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall, with a demonstrated ability to adapt these methodologies to specific project needs. Experience in managing cross-functional teams, including IT professionals, business analysts, and external vendors. Proficiency in using project management tools to track progress, manage resources, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs). Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong ability to manage risks and handle unforeseen challenges. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization. Relevant certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile certifications are strongly preferred.
