Purpose
- As Naval Architecture Engineer, you are responsible for delivering safe, reliable, and cost effective FPSO solutions. You support project delivery by performing naval architectural analyses and designs that meet contractual, regulatory, and company requirements, while aligning with the organizationâs operational and strategic objectives.
Responsibilities
- You are responsible for selecting and applying the appropriate engineering methods and procedures to optimize naval architecture design in compliance with international codes, classification society rules, and company standards.
- You deliver on your assigned scope of work in accordance with contractual and internal requirements, ensuring technical quality and completeness.
- You perform intact and damage stability calculations, hydrostatic analyses, and support hull form assessments using NAPA, SEASAFE, or equivalent software.
- You prepare stability booklets, lightship data reports and technical documentation for class approval and client submissions.
- You review and interpret IMO (International Maritime Organization) and classification societies requirements related to FPSO stability, freeboard, and marine safety.
- You participate in design reviews, safety assessments and application of lessons learned, understanding change impacts across system interfaces.
- You develop and maintain drawings and layouts using AutoCAD and/or E3D to clearly communicate the design intent.
- You plan and execute the assigned engineering activities within agreed schedules, coordinating interfaces with other disciplines.
Education
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Naval Architectural or equivalent with formal coursework in Naval Architectural engineering
Experience
- 0 to 5 years experience in FPSO, offshore floating units, shipbuilding or Oil & Gas projects.
- Exposure to accommodation / living quarters' engineering and design, ship layout, and vessel operations is an advantage.
- Working knowledge of FPSOs and offshore floating units (FPS, FPU, Semi sub).
- Familiarity with Class rules, IMO (International Maritime Organization) regulations and offshore engineering and design standards.
- Experience with NAPA, SEASAFE, AutoCAD, and / or E3D is an advantage.
