ROLE PURPOSE
 

  • As Business Development Manager, you are the internal reference for understanding the market (clients, competitors, countries) and a key support to the Product Lines in order to create a strong position for the Company in your dedicated region or sub-region. This encompasses a business and strategic approach from a country entry, customer, prospect and competition perspective.
  • You are responsible of a region or sub-region and most of the time working alone i.e., autonomously. on this scope. You have to ensure appropriate and regular reporting to your management of BD activities in your region or sub-region using dedicated tools, meetings and document templates.
  • You have to identify opportunities and develop prospects for all Product Lines while shaping a winning strategy based on a strong differentiating position for the Company.
  • You have to build up Capture Plans when opportunities are requiring more focus and quality of this document is mandatory.
  • As part of your BDM role, you could also be appointed as Account Manager for a Strategic or Key client with related activities and deliverables.
  • You have to respect processes, business ethics policies and ensure quality of deliverables to help Product Lines win the bids and execute contracts by leveraging your customer relationship, your knowledge of the country/market, your understanding of the competitive context and your commercial skills.
  • You have to raise the hand to your line manager if there is any obstacle / constraint for you to perform your work, you have respect guidelines, accept changes in priorities, support BDD to forecast expenses, business trips and attendance to events (conferences, seminars, exhibitions. technology days.... etc.).
  • If you act as a BD & Country Entry Manager, you will be responsible for defining and leading the strategic entry of SBM into new regions and countries, establishing the SBM presence and processes leading to a flawless start of activities. 
  • You are accountable to identify, formulate and implement sourcing and collaboration strategies locally. You will support the Local Content initiatives and onboarding of the local organization throughout the ramp-up of activities.
  • You are responsible to shape a local framework in line with our business ethics policies.
  • You have to support our Security, Compliance and QHSEE teams who will design the appropriate set-up allowing SBM to operate safely in the country.
  • Subject to your assignment, you shall lead the department employees and ensure they have the right (level of) competencies to deliver the work results in time and within budget.


ROLE RESPONSABILITIES
 

  • Strategic Planning: Formulate, recommend and implement growth strategies.
  • Market Survey: Identify trends and opportunities in the targeted segments of each Product Line in your region or sub-region. Provide inputs to fill the innovation stream and develop differentiators on existing markets or adapt/develop solutions for new markets.
  • Client Management: Build and maintain client relationships in your region or sub-region. Define specific account plan for Strategic & Key Clients.
  • Sales Leadership: Drive sales efforts in your region or sub-region to meet objectives (order intake targets, market penetration rate...etc.).
  • Partnership Building: Propose strategic partnerships when needed to implement strategies for your prospects and secure objectives in your region or sub-region.
  • Marketing Alignment: Collaborate on branding and marketing strategies.
  • Compliance: Perform BD activities in line with Company policies (business ethics, compliance, security...etc.).
     

If you act as a BD & Country Entry Manager, you will in addition:
 

  • Formulate and implement sourcing and collaboration strategies in new countries of operations based on the guidance of the Group and our Local content commitments. 
  • Collect information and provide critical analysis to the country ongoing and forecasted dynamics that might have an impact on SBM performance or change in risks and opportunities previously identified. Propose alternative entry plan and mitigations as required.
  • Closely maintain the relationship with all local stakeholders and provide guidance on best partnering practices in strict adherence with Compliance and Security recommendations.
  • Present Country Entry roadmap and frequently report its performance and health status against the established strategy. 
  • Recommend adjustments to the local engagements as and where necessary.
  • Ensure a strong coordination with all SBM internal stakeholders throughout the establishment of SBM in country.
  • Ensure continuity and clarity of the locally developed partnerships through collaboration with Operations and Business development teams.
  • Lead client, authorities and supplier engagements locally, and frequently report to the Operations and Business development teams. 
  • Act as the principal Sales and Marketing point of contact for SBM in the assigned region: Work seamlessly with all departments to ensure that SBM’s overall company objectives are met in reaching new markets and product offerings in such region. 


EDUCATION
 

  • Bachelor Program with relevant experience
  • Master of Business Administration with relevant options/specialties
  • Executive MBA with relevant options/specialties
  • If you act as a BD & Country Entry Manager, strong understanding of foreign affairs and international relations is a plus
  • English fluent
  • Spanish fluent


EXPERIENCE
 

  • Experience in the oil and gas industry
  • Previous roles in business development, sales, project management, or operations within the sector
  • Proven track record of autonomous role sometime, working remotely if relevant
  • Deep understanding of the oil and gas market, including trends, regulations, and key players
  • Deep knowledge of solutions & services offers in the region
  • Experience in developing and implementing business strategies
  • Established network of industry contacts and stakeholders
  • If you act as a BD & Country Entry manager, the following Skills and Experience are also applicable:
  • Strong skills and experience in developing relationship with government representatives, public officials
  • Strong adherence to Business Ethics policies and appropriates rules to interact with Authorities & Officials, local supply chain, local services providers
  • Availability for frequent travel across Latin America
