Background

  • The role of an ICSS Technician is mainly to assist the ICSS Specialist with any work pertaining to ICSS, packages’ control and Safety systems as well as communications systems. They ensure that all work they carry out is done safely and regarding security of access equipment. He will liaise effectively with other personnel.

Authority

  • The ICSS Technician is authorized to maintain Packages’ control and Safety Systems as well as Communication systems and equipment. Also, when authorized to do so, carry out ICSS Maintenance and Upgrade tasks by acting as replacement to the ICSS Specialist in times of need.

  • Packages and telecoms subcontractors, Visitors, Vendor Representatives

Accountable For: Responsibilities & Standards

  • 1) Control Access to Radio, Communications, PLCs and HMIs equipment and software
  • 1 Control access to cabinets and systems for engineering and maintenance activities using appropriate methods.
  • 2 Ensure correct level of access to the system for various personnel (e.g. Operation and other contractor).
  • 3 Change passwords at suitable intervals and maintain a list of issued keys and passwords.
  • 4 Is responsible for the implementation of all OT Cyber-security measures on board the FPSO.
  • 2) Maintain the condition of Radio, Communications, PLCs and HMIs equipment and software
  • 1 Maintain all communication systems to Company, Class and Regulatory Body standards.
  • 2 Monitor the spare parts inventory on a regular basis and maintain stock levels.
  • 3 Handle and store spare parts appropriately and securely.
  • 4 Maintain an accurate inventory of the required software configuration back-ups.
  • 3) Monitor physical Condition of Radio, Communications, PLCs and HMIs equipment
  • 1 Regular checks are carried out to confirm that critical maintenance is executed.
  • 2 Condition of equipment rooms and cabinets and cleanliness inside was checked periodically and appropriate corrective action is taken.
  • 3 The true status of overrides and inhibits is reviewed on a regular basis and system logbooks are maintained.
  • 4) Recover System Integrity
  • 1 Interpret error messages and use appropriate diagnostic tools.
  • 2 Clarify the nature of problems with engineering tools.
  • 3 Repair faults to level of ability and responsibility; communicate with vendors /specialists for help-desk type solutions.
  • 4 Guide vendor personnel to perform their activities in a safe and effective manner.
  • 5) Provide IT assistance for all related IT, PC, printers
  • 6) Contribute to Health & Safety In working Environment
  • 1 Positive action is taken to stop hazards and unsafe behaviors.
  • 2 Alarms are raised as appropriate and/or acted upon using applied policies and procedures or initiative.
  • 3 Colleagues and subcontractors are alerted ASAP of any hazards or potentially dangerous changing conditions.
  • 4 All potential and actual incidents are reported to the relevant supervisor. 7) Emergency Response
  • Carry Out Emergency Response role (See Station Bill).
  • Demonstrate competence in Emergency Response drills and exercises.

Pre-hire Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven experience and/or qualified to N/SVQ/HNC/HND or University degree in Electrical / Instrumentation or local equivalent.
  • Experience desired with offshore experience preferred.
  • Experience and knowledge of hydrocarbon processing systems and utilities.
  • Good experience of Permit to Work, Electrical Isolation Standards and Risk Assessment. Medically fit to offshore International standards such as ENG1 or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in English at a minimum of A2 level according to the CEFR international standard.
  • Medically fit according to The Company GEMS Instruction Health Requirements to Work Offshore.
