Operations Excellence Engineer

Purpose
- You execute strategies, implement Lean tools, and support improvement activities and initiatives to drive operational improvements. Your role is crucial in facilitating continuous improvement initiatives, training, and change management.
Responsibilities
- You develop, lead, execute, sustain, and standardize process and improvement projects, using the appropriate tools and measuring the effectiveness of the implemented actions.
- You implement and facilitate Continuous Improvement initiatives across all operational and support areas. This involves identifying bottlenecks, optimizing processes, and driving operational excellence.
- You maintain the Operations Management System: You are also responsible for maintaining and enhancing SBM’s operations management system. Such as KPI's and operational routines.
- You train and guide people in the use of continuous improvement tools (root cause analysis, A3, PDCA, SMED, 5S, Visual Communication, SIPOC, Process flow chart, etc…)
- You pilot, monitor and report the productivity dashboards as power BI. Promote quickly comes up to speed on complex processes and work with others to identify opportunities areas via data.
- You execute and maintain the Lessons Learned process in the Region, ensuring that inputs from unit incidents and events are effectively captured, addressed, documented, and incorporated into operational practices.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Certification in Lean Six Sigma (Green Belt or Black Belt preferred) or other relevant continuous improvement methodologies.
Experience
- Experience in operations management, continuous improvement, or process engineering, preferably within a similar industry or local setting.
- Hands-on experience with Lean tools and methodologies, including leading A3 problem-solving and performance evaluation.
- Proven experience in facilitating local initiatives, managing innovation project rollouts, and driving operational improvements.
- Experience in delivering training on Lean tools and methodologies to local teams.
- Strong background in supporting change management efforts, including assessing adoption and impact.
- Demonstrated ability to monitor KPIs, assess benefits/results, and validate the value created by Learning from Experience.
