Purpose
- The Payroll and Benefits Team Lead is responsible for overseeing the payroll and benefits administration processes in a particular location to ensure accurate, timely, and compliant delivery of employee remuneration and associated benefits. This role requires a strong understanding of payroll regulations, benefits management, and employee satisfaction strategies while fostering alignment with global and local HR policies.
Responsibilities
- You oversee the endtoend payroll process, ensuring accuracy and compliance with local labor laws, tax regulations, and SBM Offshore policies. You regularly monitor payroll outputs, promptly resolving any discrepancies or issues that arise. You ensure the timely submission of tax filings, social security contributions, and other statutory payments. Additionally, you collaborate with HR, Finance, and external vendors to maintain smooth and efficient payroll operations.
- You manage various benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, leave policies, and wellness initiatives. You review and suggest updates to benefits offerings to ensure they align with market trends and meet employee needs. You partner with benefits providers to maintain high service levels and cost efficiency, and you effectively communicate benefitsrelated information to employees.
- You mentor and guide the Payroll and Benefits team, supporting their professional growth and development. You allocate responsibilities, monitor team performance, and address any skill gaps through training and support. You foster a collaborative work environment that aligns with SBM Offshore’s values and goals.
- You ensure that payroll and benefits processes comply with local and global regulations, internal policies, and audits. You keep current on labor laws, tax regulations, and benefits trends to minimize risks. You support internal and external audits by providing accurate documentation and reports as needed.
- You continuously identify opportunities to streamline payroll and benefits processes using technology and best practices. You develop and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs), dashboards, and reports for HR and management review. Additionally, you contribute to HR strategic initiatives by providing valuable insights based on payroll and benefits data.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field. Payroll or benefitsspecific certifications are advantageous.
Experience
- Experience in payroll and benefits management, preferably within the oil and gas or offshore industries.
- Expertise in relevant social security reporting and regulations, ensuring accurate submissions and updates as required by law.
- Handson experience with payroll systems tailored to local labor laws.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills.
- Experience working with HRIS and payroll systems (e.g., SAP, Workday).
- Strong knowledge of local labor laws, tax regulations, and benefits frameworks.
- Analytical mindset with excellent problemsolving skills.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and payroll software.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with fluency in English and relevant local language.
