PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN LEAD

 

Reports To: Production Supervisor

 

Background:
The Production Technician Lead must show a strong safety behavior (safety culture disseminator) and will be able to lead daily operations such as operating plant processes and utility systems effectively.
They will ensure all procedures will always be followed and that O&M Contractor and local regulatory compliance are met in all aspects of work.
The Production Technician Lead will facilitate routine maintenance by isolations and reinstatement, liaising with CRO/Production Supervisor.
They act as a technical leader to all production technicians using their seniority, experience and knowledge.
They can delegate work and responsibilities to the Instrument Technicians they lead during the execution of their routines.
They act as Instrument Technician when required by workload.

 

Authority:
The Production Technician Lead assumes responsibility of the production technicians assigned to the system being its expertise and is authorized to operate the process and utility systems safely and efficiently. Immediate

 

Subordinates:
Production Technicians, Subcontractors, Visitors, Vendors, external and unplanned or temporary services.

 

 

Accountable For: Typical Responsibilities & Standards

 

1) Process 
Start up, Operate, Monitor and Shut Down Process and Utility systems. 
Monitor, maintain, and optimize process parameters (Level, flow, temperature, pressure, etc.) within operating requirements. 
Ensure sampling is carried out and sample results are acted upon. 
Troubleshoot to maximize sales quality and delivery volume to identify problems. 
Maintain discharge water quality within current GEMS or local guidelines. 
Monitor and operate electrical/hydraulic control panels, safety and emergency shutdown devices, and Fire and Gas Systems. 
Ensure accurate and timely production reporting and logging is submitted daily or as required by the company. 
Witness third-party calibrations when appropriate to provide verification of meter factors and volumes. 
Prove export oil meters. 
Coaching less experienced Productions technicians.

 

2) Marine/Safety 
Work to Management System policies and procedures, particularly Isolation Standards, and PTW. 
Carry out all operations in a safe and environmentally sound manner. 
Report all discharges, leaks, spills, injuries, and incidents, immediately. 
Ensure vendor and subcontract personnel within responsibility understand and comply with current environmental regulations. 
Carry out Emergency Response role.

 

3) Maintenance 
Facilitate maintenance operations by supervising, coordinating, and applying/removing isolations as required. 
Operation under PTW system, Toolbox Talk, and Risk Assessments. 
Advise maintenance personnel on hazards of plant and equipment. 
Facilitate maintenance operations related to preservation when required. 
Maintain clear and precise communications during maintenance operations.

 

4) Manage & Supervise Effectively 
Control activities of vendor and subcontractor personnel. 
Create and maintain effective working relationships. 
Create and maintain positive work culture. 
Act as a leader with the team.

 

5) Management System
Equipment, waste or other materials for disposal are dealt with according to the correct procedure. 
Promote safety awareness and application of company Management systems, COPs, and prime policies. 
Work together with Production Supervisor on WO´s PM`s to plan for operations. 
Ensure production technician apply all safety procedures correctly in the workplace. 
Manages SBM reports, Permit Work system, and CMMS system. Navigate through the system, open/close WO´s. 
Ensure contractors apply all safety procedures correctly in the workplace.

 

6) Emergency Response
Carry Out Emergency Response role (See Station Bill). 
Demonstrate competence in Emergency Response drills and exercises.

 

 

Pre-hire Qualifications and Experience:


Proven experience and/or qualified to N/SVQ Hydrocarbon Processing Level 2 or similar qualification level from country of origin.
Experience in hydrocarbon processing systems and utilities.
Knowledge of ESD F&G and DCS operation.
Good understanding of Electronic Permit to Work, IFS, Mechanical Isolation Standards, and Risk Assessment.
Proficiency in English at a minimum of A2 level according to the CEFR international standard.
Medically fit according to The Company GEMS Instruction Health Requirements to Work Offshore.
