Purpose

Responsibilities

  • You are responsible for the selection of methods and procedures, performance of the work, and execution of the design within the scope of the specifications, in compliance with international codes, company and industry standards and regulations (IEC, IEEE, Classification Societies and local regulations). You prepare electrical design deliverables including single line diagram, cable schedules, material take off, typical details, layout and termination diagram.
  • You utilize technical knowledge and software tools to produce electrical 3D model inputs and 2D drawings that are accurate, clear and easily interpreted by others.
  • You participate in design reviews, constructability and model reviews as required.
  • You work with Lead, Engineers and Designers both within and outside the discipline to meet project needs and performance levels and safeguard the company’s interests.
  • You are responsible for planning and completing activities and deliverables within the agreed time frame, as well as for ensuring system interfaces.
  • You escalate unresolved issues to the Lead Designer/Engineer to minimize delays in deliverables, understanding how assigned tasks fit within the project schedule and affect other stakeholders in meeting deadlines.
  • You ensure applicable lessons learnt are used, understanding the change impact within and across project system boundaries.
  • You collaborate with Package Engineers to ensure timely review of vendor documents and that comments are made with the required quality level.

Education

  • Engineering degree at BSc or MSc level (e.g. Chemical, Mechanical, Process or Safety Engineering) or equivalent technical qualification.

Experience

  • 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in Safety & Loss Prevention engineering, preferably within offshore oil and gas projects (FPSO, FLNG or similar facilities), across FEED and EPCI phases.
  • Practical experience with safety loss prevention and process safety methods and software such as HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, PHAST, Flaresim, Pipenet, Vessfire, BowTie, CFD tools or equivalent.
  • Strong team spirit with clear, structured communication skills in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment.
  • Ability to interface effectively with clients, class societies, shipyards, vendors and third-party consultants.
  • Autonomous and pragmatic, with a constructive mindset and sound engineering judgement.
  • Strong analytical skills, capable of translating risk assessments into practical design solutions.
  • Proactive, curious and motivated to improve safety-by-design practices and share knowledge within the team.
